We're thrilled to share that Playtheos, our indie game development company, took home 2nd place in the Indie Ignition Accelerator program! It's been an incredible 12-week journey, and we're honored to have shared our passion project, Feline Frenzy, with such talented peers and everyone who came out for Innovation week YYC.
The pitch day was a whirlwind experience. Despite our preparation and cue cards, the nerves were palpable. Presenting our flagship game to a live audience at Platform Calgary was a daunting task, especially with a strict 3-minute time limit. We had to condense our company vision, goals, and game features into a concise, engaging pitch. Easier said than done!
Of course, technical issues arose, but we persevered and adapted. It was a valuable lesson in thinking on our feet and trusting our preparation.
We were blown away by the talent and creativity showcased by our fellow contestants. To the teams who didn't take home a prize, we see you, and we appreciate the hard work and dedication that went into your projects. This community is all about lifting each other up, and we're grateful to be a part of it.
The outcome was well worth the stress: we secured $10,000 in funding from the OCIF fund and gained recognition as one of the top indie game development companies in the program.
We're grateful to the Indie Ignition Accelerator program, Platform Calgary, and Bow Valley College for hosting this innovative and collaborative workshop. The past 12 weeks have flown by, and now we're excited to navigate the business realm of our own company.
As Doc Brown from Back to the Future would say, "Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads!" We're thrilled to embark on this new journey, and we can't wait to see where it takes us.
To our fellow contestants, let's keep pushing boundaries, innovating, and supporting each other. We're all in this together!
Stay tuned for more updates on our game development journey, and thank you for supporting us along the way!
