It's hard to believe it's been over a month since we took home 2nd place in the Indie Ignition Accelerator program. Since then, we've been busy laying the groundwork for our business. Creating a business account was a whirlwind experience in itself, but we've made significant progress.
We've invested in essential hardware and software to propel our business forward. However, we've also encountered unexpected costs – like maintaining this website! It's a steep learning curve, but we're figuring it out as we go.
As we navigate the world of entrepreneurship, it's surreal to think that we're now responsible for a company and a business. So, what's next?
With our full-time positions as Program Chairs, and learning the ropes of running a business, our game development has taken a temporary backseat. However, we've been busy meeting with lawyers, business advisors, and exploring funding opportunities. Our game's development costs are estimated to be substantial, and while Dan and I are up for the challenge, we're seeking experienced professionals to join our team.
We're excited to start working with contractors and exploring partnerships with students. Our business model is built around providing students with hands-on experience and exposure, and we love the idea of "built by students, for students."
As I dive into learning how to work with our new 3D printer (and figuring out this iPhone thing!), Dan is immersing himself in all things gaming. We're eager to share more updates and milestones with you in the coming weeks.
Thanks for joining us on this journey, we are building momentum like the Fellowship on their quest.
As Sam Levenson would say "Don't watch the clock; do what it does and keep going".
